Chennai Egmore – Journey 9

Jegan got up early and saw the good morning message from Mona, he all set for another exciting day with Mona. He started his bike, going pretty fast on the roads. While driving he started to observe natural things on the way, he watched the trees moving in the winds. He watched the school going kids boarding the bus and saw few kids cried and their mom trying to console the kids. Jegan thinks really cute. These scenes happen daily in this route. For him it appeared new.

Jegan reached the office and messaged Mona, ‘When u reach office?’

Mona replied, ‘On the way … in 15mins...’

Jegan went to rest room, washed his face and make sure he dressed neatly. He went to the cafeteria, got the foods. He is looking for a seat. There he saw Ganesh and Aruna who already came there early. So he rushed to their seat happily.

Jegan said, ‘Hey guys good morning, u guys came early today…’

Ganesh said, ‘Hey man Good morning’.

Aruna just glanced at Jegan.

Jegan told them immediately, ‘Hey yesterday Mona and me was on call for than 2 hours. I started to like her much. She is actually very good than I thought. I fell fantastic u know. Seems everything in life is new and beautiful. ‘

Ganesh just scratched his head. And Aruna didn’t reply either.

Meantime in Mona’s bus, her friend asked,’who is that?’ after seeing the message. Mona said, ‘He is Jegan; u might have seen him in office. I met him in the train. He is a nice guy, very funny. Our friendship is jus 2 days old’.

Her friend replied, ‘Oooooh k k’.

Mona, ‘Hey cha not like what u think. U also can talk to him ‘.

She replied, ‘Oh wat I think?? Ennaku vendam pa neeye pesiko’.

Both ended the conversation with smile.

Now bus reached office, Mona messaged Jegan, ‘Hey wer r u? I reached office..:-)’.

Jegan showed the message to his friends and replied, ‘In cafeteria, waiting for u… he he.. :-) ‘

Mona, ‘Mudila, Coming there’.

Jegan asked Aruna, ‘what happened you are very silent today. Are u ok?’.

Still no reply from Aruna, Ganesh jus told him, ‘She is having severe headache, we will talk it out later. Now we are going… bye’.

Jegan confused and asked, ’What to talk?’

Ganesh showed the entrance and said, ’Ur girl is coming alone.. We are leaving’.

Jegan, ‘I cant get wat u r saying. Anyway we will talk during break’.

Mona saw both Jegan friends were leaving. Mona got her food and come to Jegan seat and asked, ‘Y ur friends left after seeing me?’.

Jegan said, ‘Hey no, Aruna is having some headache seems so they went.’

Mona replied, ‘Ohh ok. Actually u didn’t introduce me to ur friends'.

Jegan replied, ‘Hmmm u want to talk to them ah.. It’s easy we all can ve lunch today. Ok?’.

Mona was happy, ‘Hmmm… :-)’.

Mona was smiling and said, ‘Hey my friend thinks we both loving each other. She saw ur message today and asked. Very funny na’.

Jegan had no words to say, he said ,’Yaaa yaaa’ and thinking her friend got it correctly, she is a stupid. Ila ellam therinchu theriyatha mathiri nadikirala…

Jegan asked, ‘Whats ur weekend plan?’.

Mona replied, ‘Weekend plan ah? Today is Tuesday still 3 days more na’.

Jegan, ‘Aiye. I know still 3 days left. Jus tell ur plan?’.

Mona said, ‘I m going home this weekend also.. :-) ‘.

Jegan, ‘Hey you went last week only rite. Again this week?’

Mona, ‘Hmmm.. Y I can’t go there ah? It’s my hometown. ‘.

Jegan replied, ‘Hmmm. Again same train?’.

Mona replied, ‘Yea’.

Now an idea struck Jegan’s Mind. He first met her in train, how about he expresses his love to her in train itself.

Jegan said, ‘Actually I am also going home this weekend.’

Mona surprised and asked, ‘ooh Y?’.

Jegan replied what Mona said earlier, ‘I m going to my hometown. Y I cant go there ah?’ with smile.

Mona, ‘Ssshh.. ‘.

Jegan want to give some reason and said, ‘k k. One marriage function, so going there’.

Mona asked, ‘Wat?... Marriage? In this month.. Excuse me in this month people normally wont schedule any marriages..’.

Jegan vaziyiran, And said, ‘Ohh is it. Then I don’t know. My mother asked me to come. So I m going’.

Mona smiled and first time she caught Jegan and said, ‘OK’.

Both finished their breakfast by the time and went to their seats. Jegan immediately planned to book tatkal tickets tomorrow. He called his friend who is having net facility and asked him to book the ticket and asked him to book ticket only on that train. His friend asked him to remind him tomorrow. So he set remainder in his mobile.

Jegan entered his bay and went to aruna place and asked, ‘Have u taken medicine? R u fine? Else we can go to doctor now’.

She finally spoke to Jegan, ‘no need. I m ok’.

Jegan asked, ‘Hey Mona wants to meet both u and Ganesh. I told her we can have lunch nu. R u fine with this? Ganesh saw both were talking and came to that place and straight away asked, ‘Seems like the cat and rat fights are over’.

Jegan looked surprised and asked, ‘What u said? Fight ah?’.

Ganesh thinks ‘Oooh hoo.. Naana than sollitena’ and looks back at Aruna and said, ‘Sorry I don’t know what u both spoke?’

Jegan asked, ‘What u guys are speaking. I don’t understand’.

Aruna said, ‘hey u both go to ur seats, we talk later.’

Ganesh said, ‘Hey Aruna its time to talk. Sorry’.

Jegan said, ‘Wat. Did I do anything wrong?’.

Now Aruna was really angry and asked, ‘What ? u r asking what u did?’. Ganesh prefers to watch this and hopes it comes to conclusion.

Aruna started blasting Jegan, what u think of us? That day u didn’t talk to us properly. I was almost begging u to speak. You didn’t say a word and once mona come and talked with u, u r speaking, and u forgot us and u didn’t talk to us. And Now too u ve come and talking to us since Mona wants to meets us. And for formally u r asking how I am feeling..’

Aruna just went wild and continued questioning Jegan.

Jegan stopped Aruna and said, ‘hey u both know me na. U and Ganesh are the guys who know me better than anyone else. Even I don’t have any friends in office beside u. How u guys can think I m going out of you. Hey Ganesh u too. ‘.

Now silence between them…………..

Jegan said, ‘Sorry guys I can see from ur side. How big the mistake was. I am so sorry’.

Aruna still not pleased.

Ganesh just placed his one hand on Jegan Shoulder and asked Aruna, ‘Hey Aruna come on yaar He realized and asking Sorry na. ‘.

Aruna after few seconds of silence said, ‘I don’t want ur sorry and puri. Jus know the importance of us’.

Ganesh said, ‘Ssshhh happa mudiyala… enna importance ohhh’.
Now all smiled and Jegan politely asked, ‘Excuse me sir, mam.. can both of join for lunch?’.

Aruna said, ‘hmmm.. sure’.

Ganesh said, ‘Yea very much. Hey ask her to come with her friend. She is cute ‘.

Aruna, ‘Alaiyatha Ganesh… :-)’

Jegan said about his weekend plan. Ganesh said, ‘Good Man, Way to go!’

Lunch came all had a happy lunch. Jegan as usual wondering how beautiful Mona was.

Later he continued his late night mobile calls and messages. Days went on like this…

And now its Friday, Jegan planned to express his love on that day; Mona was on leave that day. Jegan called her and asked, ‘Hey u going to home tonight right?’ Mona said, ‘Yea Coming’.

Jegan can hear break in Mona’s voice and asked, ‘R u ok?’

She told him that she is suffering from fever. Jegan was little worried and told her take care.

Jegan got a tatkal ticket to travel. Evening he went to the railway station and directly went to Mona’s coach. There he saw her dull. He bought her a water bottle and biscuit. She said thank u. He exchanged the tickets with the guy who was next to Mona’s seat. He talked to her for few minutes. He decided it’s not the right time to tell about his love.

Then Jegan told Mona, ‘If u want anything just ask me. Ok?’.

Mona Said, ‘Sure. Now I want to sleep’.

Jegan helped Mona to sleep, he moved her bag and gave his pillow to her and asked her to sleep.

Jegan was sleeping opposite to Mona seat. Mona was impressed with Jegan’s Caring nature.

Morning Jegan woke up earlier and saw Mona sleeping. His station came, he woke Mona and said, ‘My station has come I am leaving, Inform me yaar, after u reach’. And worriedly went home.

Jegan was worried and thinking about Mona all time. Later on Sunday Mona called Jegan and said, ‘I am now 100% fit’.

Jegan said, ‘Ohh gr8 to hear.’

Mona said, ‘Ok I will see u later today. Hope u r are also in the same train isn’t it?’

Jegan Said, ‘Hmm yea’. Both ended the calls.

Jegan was little nervous and excited and decided to tell the love to her. He was little worried if she will never talk to him again. He decided better to tell the truth instead of hiding.

Time went Jegan was tensed and waiting for the train. Train entered the station and Jegan heartbeat was raising and he boarded the train with the hope of saying the love.

Chennai Egmore – Journey 8

Jegan was in cloud nine and he went straight to his place with all smiles on his face. He just cherishes those moments for few minutes. Now the time is 4.30 PM, he got the appointment to meet Mona at 6.30PM. Before that he wants to complete the pending works. So Jegan started working. He not even thought about his friends.

Ganesh watched all this. He was excited and pinged Aruna, ‘Hey have a look at him. Jegan has gone mad’.

Aruna replied angrily, ‘He is not respecting us. Don’t talk about him. We asked him to be normal from morning. He is not listening to us. Suddenly when Mona came and told, he become happy. Then why are we here as friends? See even now he didn’t talk to us‘.

Ganesh watched all this and blinking. Ganesh thought ippo thaaan onnu mudinchathu athukulla innona…

Ganesh tried to calm her, ‘Ok. I ll talk to him. Relax.’

Aruna again angrily replied, ‘What u mean by Relax’.

Ganesh was now exhausted and said to himself, ‘Sssshhhh mudiyala’, and he didn’t reply Aruna.

Time passed by, for Jegan time passed slowly. Now the clock shows 6.25 PM. Jegan decided to go. Both Ganesh and Aruna were also getting started to go home. Jegan come to their place and said , ‘Bye guys. Catch u tomorrow’ and went away. Ganesh don’t know what to do. Aruna gave ganesh a starry look.

Ganesh better prefers to avoid eye contact and said to himself, ‘Pogum pothu chumma povana.. atha vittutu… ‘. Ganesh said, ‘Lets go’.

Now Jegan moves into the romantic area in his office. A place where already few couples, few friends were chatting. He called Mona and asked her to come to that place. Mona said give me 5 minutes I ll come there. Mona’s bus starts by 7.00 PM sharply. So Jegan knows he only has few minutes to talk.

Jegan was waiting impatient. Time tickles. Now its 6.45PM, He gave a call to Mona, Mona cut the call. Jegan don’t know what to do but he has to wait.

Jegan while waiting he was thinking, in all cinemas heroines are the one who will wait for heroes to come. Hero always comes late. But in his case it is happening vice versa. Time now 6.55 PM, Jegan almost lost his hope that Mona won’t come. He slowly started moving…

There he saw Mona was coming towards him.

“If this situation happens in Tamil movie the next scene would be a song. On thinking of a song here, for me, Thuli Thuli Mazhaiyaai vanthalay song from Paiyaa came into my mind. But this incident happened long back, I don’t know if any song striked Jegan’s mind or not”

She was walking fast holding her handbag in her hand. She came near to Jegan. Before Jegan opened his mouth, Mona said, ‘Sorry sorry I made you wait for so long’.
Jegan said, ‘hey. No Problem’

Mona breathing heavily and she started to scold his manager for giving late assignments at EOD.

Jegan was not listening to her. Only she is doing all the talking.

Then Jegan stopped her and asked, ‘When ur bus starts?’.

Mona, ‘OMG. Its already late’.

Both moving towards the bus, She asked, ‘How u go? yar’.

Jegan replied, ‘by Bike’.

Mona replied, ‘Good’.

Mona got the bus, and now she asked, ‘hey u said u wanted to talk something na,’

Jegan said, ‘Hmmm… At least now u asked. Nothing important. Jus wanted to talk’

Mona was little worried and said, ‘Hey I m really sorry yar’

Jegan said, ‘Its ok. Jus go home’.

Mona was not satisfied and again asked sorry. By seeing her worried face, Jegan smiled a little and said, ‘Hey its ok. Jus go home safely’.

Mona said, ‘I call u later tonight. Plz don’t mind. Bye’.

Jegan said, ‘Ya sure bye’.

Bus started moving and as so Jegan. Aruna watched Jegan speaking to Mona, and messaged Ganesh, ‘Look what is he doing. ’

Ganesh replied, ‘What? Where?’. Aruna said, ‘He is going behind Mona’s bus. Asinga paduthuran’.

Ganesh happily asked, ‘Is it?’.

Aruna, ‘Poda loose. Unkitta sonnen paaru’.

Ganesh smiled after seeing this message. But he knows Aruna was angry.

Jegan started his bike and went to his home fast. Mona was little worried since she made Jegan wait. After many minutes both reached home. By the time Jegan finished his dinner, time reaches 9 PM. He called his mother and talked to her for some routines. It is a normal routine for bachelor guys who are staying away from home. Then he started chatting with his friends very happily and cracking jokes.

At around 10 PM, his mobile ringed. One of Jegan roommate was playing with his mobile. He saw the name appearing and asked, ‘who is tat Monaaaa da?’

Jegan immediately picked the mobile from his friend and went upstairs. Mona immediately said, ‘Hey I m sorry’. Jegan said, ‘hey no probs. Nothing jus wanted to talk with you that’s it’.

Mona asked, ‘hmm.. Ok now talk.’

Jegan just wanted to spend time with her; he has no questions to ask. So he asked, ‘How was the day?’

Mona replied, ‘this what u want to ask ah? For this u waited?’.

She laughed and continued, ‘hey sorry, its ok, not many work.’
Jegan, ‘hmm’.

Mona asked, ‘Hey u were alone when u waits for me. Y u didn’t bring any of ur friends?’
Jegan, ‘U was also came alone, did I ask you Y?’

Mona knows Jegan caught her. She just said nothing. Then they continued talking. Both started to know each other. Both talked about daily happenings, many jokes shared as Jegan a humorous guy.

Time was ticking fast. Now the time reaches 12, Mona said she feel sleepy. So Jegan wished her good night. Both agreed for a lunch tomorrow and ended up the call.

Jegan with full enthusiasm entered the room. He also knew that his friends will start questioning him a lot. As his thoughts, There he saw his friends were waiting for him. All asked who is tat da? . He jus told, ‘No guys I just went upstairs to count the stars.’

His roommates asked, “counting stars ahaa? “ poda !@#$$@#*………

Jegan went to sleep and all others are started making fun of him.

For Mona, this was not the case. Since girls are smart enough to talk over phone silently without others noticing it.

Jegan knows it is too early to come out of the Friends Zone. Will he come out early??

Chennai Egmore – Journey 7

Since T20 cricket at its best, also bcoz of work and other activites, it has taken long time for the next journey. Sorry readers… Those who forgot the story, Please spend few mins reading the previous journeys.

Now the journey continues……..

Jegan went to his desk and was thinking about Mona and that guy. Both Aruna and Ganesh followed him; they went straight to Jegan’s desk to talk to him. But unfortunately their PM called Jegan and Ganesh for an urgent meeting and both went to the meeting room. There Ganesh noticed Jegan not listening to the meeting, he was clearly disturbed.

Once the meeting was over, Jegan went to back his seat. It’s almost lunch time. Ganesh went to Aruna’s desk and he told Aruna about Jegan. Both went to his desk and Ganesh asked, ‘Hey man, what happened? Normally you crack jokes at meeting. Today u were very silent.’

Aruna, ‘what da? Don’t be like this. Be normal. Everything is gonna be ok. Come lets go for lunch’.

All 3 went to cafeteria. There they saw Mona and that guy standing in the queue. Mona unintentionally turned back, she caught Jegan standing in the queue. She waved her hands and said hi to Jegan. Jegan just reply her by jus saying hi. Mona was confused that “is this the same Jegan she met in train”.

Mona got the food and seated. Jegan and his friends also got the food, Mona called Jegan to come and have lunch with her. Jegan not interest since that guy was seated there. He just signaled Mona that he will share the lunch with his friends. Mona with a disappointing face shook her head.

Everyone had normal lunch. Jegan and friends finished eating and went to wash hands. That time, Mona too came, and went near Jegan and asked, ‘hello…. U remember me?? ‘.

Jegan replied, ‘Hmmm… How is the day ?’. She said, ‘Yea, good. What happened to you?’

Before Jegan replying Aruna and Ganesh entered. And Aruna asked, ‘Hey Mona. sorry to disturb you we are Jegan’s friends, I m Aruna, he is Ganesh’.

Mona, ‘No prob. Hi. I am Mona, hope Jegan might have told about me’

Aruna said, ‘Hmm.. yea. From morning he is telling about you’

Mona don’t know what to tell jus asked, ‘what did he tell?’.

Jegan starring at Aruna. Aruna understood that and said, ‘No. I m jus kidding. Jegan just said he met you in train’.

Mona told, ‘Ooh okk.’

Jegan cut the conversation and said, ‘Guys we got a call now, we need to go now. Sorry Mona I catch u later’. But Actually there was no call… Jegan lied.

Aruna invited Jegan and Ganesh thru office communicator and angrily asked, ‘Jegan. R u mad? Why u lied we have a call? What happened to you’

There were no replies from Jegan. Aruna kept asking questions, ‘Mona was talking to you, you didn’t reply her.’

Ganesh replied, ‘Yea u even not allowed me to speak with Mona ;)’

Aruna replied, ‘Ganesh I m speaking serious, stop ur Mokkai’s’.

Ganesh said, ‘okkk’.

Till No reply from Jegan, Aruna was getting angry and asking him to reply. Ganesh understand the situation and replied, ‘Hey lets stop this here, and we will talk later’.

Time passed, clock ticked. Time is now 4.30 PM. Ganesh went to Aruna’s desk and Jegan desk and asked them to go for a break. Ganesh said to Aruna, ‘Be calm, don’t explode if he is not talking properly.’ Aruna stared at Ganesh.

All went to cafeteria, got coffee. No words spoken. Suddenly Mona entered cafeteria, and saw Jegan seated. She went straight to their place and asked, ‘Can I join u guys?’

Ganesh replied, ‘Ya plz take a seat.’ And thinking, ‘vaa ma vaa. Unnala than inga evanum pesa matran, nee veraya.

Mona said, ‘Hey Jegan, today I told about you to my friend.’

Jegan raised his elbow, ‘oh what he told’.

Mona said, ‘You know him right. You guys know each other from college days na’.

Jegan replied, ‘hmm… yea’

Ganesh thinking, ‘Oh what is gonna happen now’.

Mona continued, ‘seems both had some war in college days. Also he said he wants to forget everything and said you are good guy. You speak from heart’.

Now Jegan feels , ‘wow!! Whats going on here’. He was refreshed and smiling (the thing that he forgot till morning).

And replied, ‘Ohhh really. He is also a good guy’. Ganesh silently told Aruna, ‘Nalla vazliyuran’. No reply from Aruna. Ganesh thinks, ‘Hmmm one problem over and another starts’.

Aruna said, ‘Hey me and Ganesh have some work, we gotta go, u guys continue’. Both left.

Jegan now was happy and asked Mona , ‘Did you forgot something?’

Mona asked, ‘What?’

Jegan, ‘You said u will answer my question today in office’.

Mona thinking what Jegan asked in train and now she got it, ‘hmmm… you asked about my marriage plan rite’.

Jegan, ‘Come on tell yaar’.

Mona asked, ‘Y u want to know? ‘.

Jegan said, ‘hmmm. Nee rombaaa azaga iruka, pinnadi use agalamla…..’

Mona, ‘You never stop joking ah… Mostly I may get married next year. My father is already looking for a good boy.’

Jegan said, ‘Ithuku thaaan intha buildup. Naan kuda vero etho ninaichen’.

Mona, ‘Hmmm’.

Jegan asked, ‘You go by what your father says ah, you don’t ve any ideas like love’.

Mona smiled and said, ‘Big no. ’

Jegan thinks, ‘Ooh god. How am I gonna feel my love’.

Jegan asked, ‘Y u don’t believe in love?’

Mona said, ‘Not like that. I don’t want love. I feel my parents will get me a perfect guy’.

Jegan with no words to tell jus said, ‘Oooh good’.

Mona said, ‘okie I gotta go. See u later.’

Jegan said, ‘If u don’t mind, can we talk in evening before u go’.

Mona said, ‘Ok, I call you before i start’.

Mona was happy since Jegan asked this and more importantly about love.

Jegan also happily went to his seat and looking for his friends which he forgot for few minutes. Not knowing how his friends reacting especially Aruna…. :-)
