Chennai Egmore – Journey 22 - The Climax

 

Thanks to all the readers for reading the journey with patience. Your support & positive comments boosted us very much to put more and more effort to give the best. We are really sorry for the long gaps between posts. Will try to correct in upcoming posts.

As of journey, this is a story with some real incident that you might have faced or you would have seen or heard from your friends. We took all those and made it a story. From the previous 5 to 6 post, many readers where asking abt the climax. Whether it’s positive or negative and most of them wished to be positive. We wanted to satisfy the expectation of many Jegans & Monas who read the journey. Ready the climax and enjoi. Once again thanks all for your support. We will meet again with a new sweet LOVE journey.  

Here we go……….

Jegan went to Chennai on that day itself, Mona’s father got discharged from hospital the next day.

Jegan and Mona didn’t talk to each other for a week. And on next Sunday Mona called Jegan and said his father is better now and she will come to Chennai tomorrow. Apart from “Hmmm, ok, Yea” Jegan didn’t say anything.

Next day they both meet each other in office cafeteria. Both were happy to meet after a week gap that too in their favorite spot where their love began. But this week a lot has happened.

Mona and Jegan talking about Mona’s father health condition, and how it happened.

Mona noticed Jegan was still feeling he was responsible for everything. So Mona asked Jegan, ‘Why are you acting as you are normal Jegan. I knew you not. Stop acting, Neeye solluva nu ethir parthen, but u didn’t start at all..

Jegan, ‘No. I m not acting. I m normal only’.

Mona, ‘Don’t lie. You are not responsible for this, neither me. It is bcoz of love between u and me, and my father’s attitude and his love on me. That means we all are responsible for this. And we cannot blame you on this.’

Jegan, ‘Illa. I feel like I m selfish. I thought only about me and my life. Not from your family side and also importantly from your side. There are so many things leads to marriage. There are many things important for your father. I didn’t consider about it. I didn’t respect him. I am ashamed. I probably put you in lot of pressure.’

Mona, ‘this is first time, I m seeing u talking like this. You used so many ‘I’. That is hurting... It’s about ‘We’ not ‘I’. If you feel ashamed, then I too feel ashamed. If that so, we are responsible for everything happened. Not only you. I know you for almost 2 years. In all those 2 years so many times I was worried about our future. Whenever I was worried, you only stand behind me and push me. You taught me how to stay positive, how to take things lightly, and taught me to see the life from different perspective. You know how am I proud of having you as my life partner. You are everything to me. I knew you are hurt by my mother’s comment and my comment. You are rite? ‘.

Jegan just shook his head. Mona continued, ‘What I and my mother told was purely out of emotional. We didn’t mean to harm you. Even my mother told me next day, ‘Naan nethu Jegan apdi pesi iruka kudathu.. Avan kitta sollidu nu sonnanaga…’ I replied her, ‘Maa don’t worry Jegan will understand nu... But … We were sorry Jegan’

Jegan thinks for a minute and thinks what his father told him on that day. Finally a small smile comes on his face and shook his head holding Mona’s hand.

Jegan, ‘Thank You. You knew me better than anyone’.

Mona winked, ‘Better than your mom???’

Jegan, ‘Heeeyyyy… Aaama intha mokka lam enga irunthu kathukitta??’

Mona, ‘Hmmm… unkitta irunthu thaan’. Both had a good laugh.

Mona then told, ‘Ok... Now I tell you a happy news... You know what? For past one week, everyday there will be a discussion about you in my home not from me but from my family. Since after I hugged you on that night, that too in front of my relatives. They all talking about you only and they are talking to my father. My father listens to them. Also my uncle goes one step ahead, he lied to my father that you gave some money for my father treatment. I was wondering what you said to my uncle. Since then, my uncle daily asks some detail about you. He even started calling you as ‘Mappila’’.

Jegan, ‘Oooh really that’s great news dear. Finally relatives helping us in our love ah… See how my one hug is effective. But you are not allowing me for more’.

Mona, ‘Romba aasa thaan.’

Jegan, ‘Parra… But I didn’t talk much to your uncle na’.

Mona, ‘Yea… but he told, you cried and you were in lot of pain. That’s where my uncle started liking you. Is it true?  You cried?…’

Jegan, ‘Hmmmmmm…. May be’.

Mona, ‘Sappppaaa… Intha pasangale ipdi thaan… emotional idiots.. :D.. ‘

Jegan, ‘itheellam konjam over’.

Mona, ‘Coolll… Actually after that, my uncle promised me that he will convince my father for the marriage at any cost nu… That gives me confidence. Athaan today I speak this way… Also unna innum konja naal alaza vidalam nu thought… But paavam en chellam nu vittuten…’.

Jegan, ‘hmmm… Iru di… Unna piragu pathukiren…’.

Both had a big laugh and were happy… Jegan called his father also they called Ganesh and Aruna and informed everything to them... They were also so happy with that.

A month went, one beautiful day and Mona’s father called Mona and asked her to come that weekend with Jegan.

Mona asked, ‘Dad.. Is this serious?’.

Mona’s father, ‘Yes’.

Mona, ‘Thank you thank u. thanks a lot daddy’.

Mona called Jegan and informed him the same. He was so delighted. They decided to go by train and booked tickets.

On train, Mona makes fun of Jegan, seeing how nervous he was.

On morning both reached the home, Jegan was welcomed by Mona’s father and Mona’s uncle.

They asked him to take a bath. They had a good breakfast. During breakfast, all time Mona’s uncle calling Jegan as ‘Mappilai’. Jegan initially hesitated to join the conversation bcoz of Mona’s father. But later he too joined it. But Mona’s father didn’t talk. That worried Jegan. He feels like he is almost there to the heavens door but not yet.

Mona’s father called Jegan to his room. Mona wished him all the best. Jegan, ‘Naan first time interview ponathuku kuda ipdi bayanthathu illa’. Mona smiled and pushed him in to the room.

Mona’s father was about to start the conversation.

Jegan stopped him and said, ‘Sir, I am very sorry for whatever happened to you. It’s all bcoz of me only, Plz don’t blame Mona ever for this. About Mona, She is jus special. I love her very much at least one percent more than you. Also I didn’t spend any amount for your treatment. Even I didn’t ask anyone to lie for me too.  But they did. They did for Mona. So please think... Don’t say noo…. ‘.

Mona father smiled, ‘You know what? I liked you in first meeting. But when my daughter told that she loves you. I hated you the most. But once I had heart attack, I had a feel like my life is finished. I was more worried about Mona and my wife. Who will take care of them after I go? So many questions arise in my mind. That pains me more than the heart pain. Bcoz I don’t have a son or someone to take a responsibility. Later I was unconscious. But once I wake up, I saw you. I know you definitely not came for me, you came for Mona’. Jegan shakes his head.

Mona father continued, ‘But when I wake up, I saw you and my family standing outside. At the moment all my attitude was gone. Then I feel ashamed of me. Why I behave bad to my daughter. Why I cause trouble to my own daughter. Just bcoz of different religion or just bcoz I thought badly of you.  Whatever may be the reason but decided to change my decision. About Mona she is really indeed special. After my attack, she never talked about you. Why I am telling this is prior to that whenever I talk to her, she always talks about you only. I always feel frustrated at that time. But after that, she didnt say a single word about you. I know she is hiding her emotions for me. There I understood my daughter’s feeling and love for me and love for you. So these things made me to convince…..

Jegan with eyes open, ‘So sir it means ???’.

Mona father smiled and happily said, ‘Don’t call me Sir, call me mama… Ask your Dad and mom to my home. We can talk about your marriage’.

Jegan almost had tears in his eyes and said, ‘thank u sir..’.

Mona’s father, ‘Thank my family too... Mona in prayers, Jus tell her this’.

Jegan, ‘Sure I ll do now’.

Mona praying in her room, Jegan entered her room. Mona asked what happened. Mona’s with wide opened eyes, she expecting a word from Jegan. Jegan smiles and comes near her and hugged her and no words spoken both had tears.

Jegan said in her ears, ‘Your father said yes to our marriage.  First time unna train la paarkum pothu ithellam nadakumanu ninaichen, now it happened, my life is fulfilled.’

Mona, ‘Hmmmm… My life too..’.

Jegan, ‘I love you Mona’.

Mona, ‘Love you tooo.’

Both shared the first kiss of their life. Mona rushed to her father and thanked him.

Mona’s father was happy to see his happy daughter. She thanked her mom and uncle. And told them how fortunate to have them, and how happy she is.

Soon the parents meet and marriage date was fixed. Mona’s father apologizes to Jegan father for all he said when they last met.

Jegan and Mona became the hot topic in their office; they called and invited Ganesh and Aruna.

Aruna wished Jegan, ‘Congrats da. Epadiyo sathichita… I am very happy’.

Ganesh on the other end with his usual funny comments, ‘Enna Jegan pesiye Mona, Mona family la irukira ellaraium correct pannita pola…’

But both Ganesh and Aruna in outside the country, they told  Jegan and Mona, they can’t make it. But Jegan ordered them to come to marriage at any cost and said , ‘Enga love starting la irunthu, last vara engaluku support panninga.. Marriage ku kandipa varanum’ 

On the marriage day, Jegan and Mona got the specials gifts they wished; both Ganesh and Aruna were present at the time…

All four had a great time there after a long time. They are pulling the legs of each other and made happy comments. Jegan and Mona’s parents were happy seeing their kids got the life they wanted. Everyone had a fantastic time after that.

At last a true love wins.

Jegan and Mona were in cloud nine, truly they deserved to be and they started their new journey in life…….

Chennai Egmore – Journey 21

Jegan and Jegan’s parents were surprised, shocked and worried by the absence of Mona. Jegan tried calling her a many times, but no response from Mona.

Jegan told his father that he will go now to Mona’s place and find her. Jegan father stopped him, ‘Don’t Rush Lets wait, she might ve lost her mobile phone or some reasons will be there’.

Jegan tensed and called Mona repeatedly with no luck. His thoughts go mad. An hour went by; Mona’s mobile says it is switched off. Jegan asked his father, ‘Whether Mona’s father arranged for a sudden marriage? If that is the case there is no point I live. Now her mobile got switched off too. What should do I do now?’

Jegan father looked at Jegan and told him nothing would have happened don’t think of too much in a assured way.

Jegan father asked Jegan, ‘Do u contacted her today?’

Jegan, ‘No’.

Jegan father, ‘So when u contacted her last?’

Jegan, ‘I spoke to her on train that is our last meeting; after she messaged me that she reached. That’s it. She didn’t call me for 2 days. I thought it is normal. But now…’

Jegan father, ‘Okay okay relax. I will enquire about her thru one my friend there. I ll ask him to see what happening there. You stay here I just go out and talk to him and come’.

Before leaving Jegan father murmured Jegan mother, ‘Jus keep an eye on him’ and went.

No sign of Jegan father for 10 mins. Jegan has almost no nails in his hand to bite and he was still with his shoes for those mins. He was sitting in chair with head down and thinking much. Jegan mother went to him and sat close to him and trying her best to relax him.

Jegan told her mother that he was so scared now.

Jegan father comes back and told Jegan, ‘I asked my friend to go to Mona’s home and asked him to check the situation. He will call me in approximately 30 mins’.

Jegan father asked him to remove the shoes and to relax.

Time passes by. Within 10 minutes Jegan asked his father to check again. Jegan father replied back saying ‘Lets wait for 10 more minutes’.

They waited for another 10 minutes, Jegan father received a call from his friend.

Jegan father was talking quietly on the phone. Jegan went near him in anticipation. As he approaches, Jegan father ended the call and told him, ‘Hey Jegan, It is bad news, nothing as we thought but still bad. My friend told me, Mona’s father was hospitalized this evening. They all in hospital it seems, Neighbors’ says he had a heart attack’.

Jegan was little relaxed and was biting the lips.  

Jegan father asked him, ‘What r u going to do now?’

Jegan, ‘I want to go there and see how the situation. Tell me what I do?’

Jegan father immediately replied, ‘Yea we can go there, I m also coming with u. I call my friend and inform him about our arrival’.

Jegan mother interrupted, ‘Its already late here, time almost 10’O clock. If u starts from here by now, u will reach there by 2 in mid night. Where would u go? Will hospitals be open at that time?’

Jegan, ‘No ma, I want to go immediate’.

Jegan mother, ‘I m not stopping u. since u lost contact with her. Even if u go there, who would u contact? Just think before and go’.

As a typical mom she advised them at the right time.

Jegan father, ‘She too had a point. First we go there and decide wat we can do. I will ask my friend to get some more info on this.’

Time almost 10.15 they got the bus from their place. Mona’s home town was approximately 100 Km from there. In bus, lights were switched off and they were playing some old tamil film in the dark. Jegan was looking at the darkness outside the window.

Jegan thinks how badly he missed Ganesh and Aruna in this place.

Jegan father asked him to have a sleep, even though he knew Jegan won’t sleep at this time. Jegan replied, ‘I can’t. You have a sleep’.

They reached Mona’s place at exactly 1’O clock in the morning.

Jegan’s father’s friend was waiting for them in the bus stand. He took them to the hospital by an auto. In auto, he told them, ‘What I heard is Mona father had heart attack in the evening. Seems he is improving well now. We can go inside the hospital. No problem at all’.

In another 20 mins, auto reached the hospital.

 All 3 entered the ward where Mona father was admitted. Mona saw them first and walks fast towards Jegan, both hugged each other that too in front of few very close relatives of Mona’s family. They were shocked seeing this. Except Mona’s mother no one from their family knows Mona’s love.

Mona was crying and started to tell what happened.

Mona, ‘It happened just hours before I was about to start to Chennai. He didn’t speak to me for 2 days after I told him that I want to marry you. He was so upset for 2 days. And on today he was over stressed and suddenly he got the heart attack. I feel like I m the reason for all this. I became his curse. It all my fault’

Mona relatives were all shocked and Mona’s mother told them who they were and what all happened in the recent days.

Jegan father was talking to Mona’s relatives how Mona father was doing right now and asked them to feel free to contact them for any help. He informed everyone that ‘We were actually trying to reach Mona’s mobile but, we were unable to. But we got the sad news from my friend. So we came here, now good to hear he is fine.’

Mona said, ‘Sorry I forget to take the mobile here’.

Mona’s mother asked them to stay in their home for tonight and can see Mona’s father tomorrow.

Jegan father replied, ‘No its fine. We will stay in my friend home.’

Mona was in the arms of Jegan and still crying. Jegan, ‘Do not worry. Now he is doing well. Now u need to provide him care and support.’

Mona’s relatives were clearly seeing the love they share but they don’t want to comment about it at this time.

Jegan asked his father to go to his friend home and get a sleep and said he will take care of the things here.

Mona’s relatives were also leaving; they said they will come in early morning.

So now Mona, Mona’s mother and Jegan were in the hospital. Mona’s mother thanked Jegan for coming there that too in the very late night. Mona’s mother, ‘You are good guy, I know it, now my family members are feeling it. One day he will also realize it. Let he become normal. I will talk to him about your marriage. He will agree. I am sure about it. He loves Mona a lot. She was her first priority in his life. Also he hates love marriage for some reasons. But I believe he will change everything for Mona. Please don’t separate him from his daughter. Please wait… ’.

Jegan clearly understands the words from her. He feels like he was the reason behind all this, especially he feels like bcoz of him only Mona’s family was in the hospital and in life-death situation. Jegan saddened and promised Mona mother, ‘No never aunty. Without his permission, I will never marry Mona. Don’t worry’

Mona understands Jegan’s feeling, immediately stopped her mother, ‘Maa don’t talk about it now.’

Mona asked Jegan not to worry about the comments made by mother. Jegan didn’t respond her.

Already pity Mona now was even more worried as Jegan things like this.

A night long silence appeared in the room with the exception of small conversations.

Jegan asked Mona about whether her relatives are present in the hospital. She said they were here chittappa, chitti and mama.

Mona’s uncle came early in the morning and asked Jegan to go his home as he will take care of things.

Jegan before leaving, he went inside to inform Mona. But he saw Mona was sleeping, so went away without informing her.

Jegan went to see his father.

His father asked, ‘Is everything fine there?’.

Jegan replied, ‘Yea Everything is fine there since I am here’.

Jegan father, ‘What? What happened? ‘.

An emotional Jegan, ‘I feel like I m guilty, selfish, and I m responsible for his heart attack. Just for my sake, I put them in to this situation’.

Seeing his son worried, Jegan father, ‘Hey hey wait. Go and have a sleep. We will go and meet them in afternoon.’

Jegan, ‘No there is no point in going there. He will be more worried if he sees me there. We will go home now. I informed Mona’s uncle that we will be leaving now and will see him after he discharged from hospital.’

Jegan’s father just tapped his son shoulder and told him, ‘If that was your decision, I will come with you. But don’t let your mind to take wrong decision based on last night’.

Mona looked for Jegan later she found he was missing in the hospital. Mona’s uncle told Jegan’s message to her. Mona knows exact reason why he left her alone. She called Jegan, he skipped first 2 calls and attended the next one and he tried to act normal but Mona caught him, ‘there is something wrong with you. Wat happened?’. Jegan, ‘Nothing. Come to Chennai. We need to talk’.

What Jegan wants to talk, lets wait for one more journey….:)

Chennai Egmore – Journey 19

Sorry for coming late again....................

Finally a crack appears on the wall. Jegan and Mona had their first misunderstanding in their life. Every relationship faces this problem but how they come out of it is the question. Les see how they both come out of it.

Jegan was angry and hugely upset. Mona rushed to her hostel and found herself in crying. Couple of days in office both Jegan and Mona didn’t talk each other. Also both didn’t want to see. Jegan expects Mona to come to him and talk, and Mona expects Jegan to come to her. Both were unable to concentrate on the work.

On a hot fri(y)day in office, Ganesh came to Jegan’s desk along with Aruna to calm down Jegan. As it was a lunch time most of the cubes were empty. Jegan was still upset; he didn’t concentrate on the work for 2 days. Ganesh started the conversation, “You must be running out of your mind man!!!.. We thought you and Mona would be perfect couple but u both are disappointing”.

Jegan takes some time before answering, “Neenga solratha partha Did I do all the mistakes?? Look here man, her father insulting me and my family. Also she too was thinking when I asked her to come with me. That is hurting‘.

Aruna, ‘Then what u expect from her. U want her to say Yes??’.

A little silence between them, suddenly it hit Jegan’s mind how this question is meant to Mona.

Aruna, ‘How long u both were loving each other, Maximum 1 year. Then what? You have to wait little long to succeed in love. Jegan you love your family, same way Mona will love hers too. Respect her feeling and go talk to her, she needs you. Atha vittutu ipdilam scene podatha, insult pannitanga athu ithunu.. Avar ponna sight adicha avar apdithaan solluvanga….’

Ganesh, ‘Go man. She didn’t have lunch yet, call her and take her to lunch. I have never seen you like this’.

Jegan, ‘Hmmm. Makes some sense. But you both blaming only me on this’.

Aruna with little smile said, ‘Hey its not like tat. You have all the reasons to get angry at that time. We are humans rite, we all do mistakes. We just pointed out the mistakes from your side. That’s the reason we are friends…’.

Ganesh, ‘Aruna, if u had talk like this to clients. U could have got better ratings Also Jegan oda arivu kanna thiranthuta… ’.

Jegan, ‘Good one Ganesh!!!’. Both of them are smiling, but Aruna looking angrily towards Ganesh. Ganesh said, ‘Jegan save me from her da..’.

Jegan, ‘ha ha… I love u guys. But I can call Mona. But she will be very angry on me na’.

Ganesh, ‘Well you know how to deal with tat..’.

Jegan, ‘Okk.. Let me solve this…’

Jegan called Mona, Mona saw his name and didn’t attend the call. He gives another call this time she cut the call.

Jegan, ‘Damn. She didn’t pick the call’.

Aruna, ‘that’s wat u did. Now its back fired’.

Jegan, ‘I am going to her place and will talk to her’.

Ganesh, ‘Wait I will come with you, I need to meet some one there.’, saying this both left the place.

When walking, Ganesh turned back and saw whether Aruna moved out of the place or not. Once confirmed, he quietly told, ‘Machi Whatever u did was right. But u over cooked it. Intha ponnungale ipdi thaan. Go and convince her. But Gethaa vitratha. Ok?’.

Jegan looked at him, ‘Yea u r rite. But u scared of Aruna va’.

Ganesh, ‘She knows I don’t ve anyone to meet, so she could ve guessed it by now’.

Jegan, ‘Hmmm. Thanq ganesh.’.

Both reached Mona’s floor, Jegan saw Mona sitting in front of PC doing nothing and worried.

Ganesh, ‘Hey I leave now. All the best good luck. Don’t get too many beats’.

Now Jegan walks towards Mona’s desk. Almost everyone in Mona’s team knew she loves Jegan.

Mona’s friend in team saw him as she sit next to her, She told Mona, ‘Hey your Manmadhan varan’.

Mona turned back and looked at him, and immediately turned away. The girl noticed it and told Jegan, ‘Hello sir, Madam romba hot ah irukanga, poi cool pannunga’ and she left.

Jegan sits over the table and facing opposite her and started the conversation. Her red colored eyes and her face clearly shows her sadness.

Jegan, ‘Hey Mona. I am really sorry for whatever happened. I think we need to talk each other. Come let’s have our lunch outside and talk’.

Mona looked at him and didn’t reply any.

Jegan continued and trying to make the conversation soft, ‘yea I know you are very angry and want to beat me to core. So do it whatever u want but not in public. Come with me na’.

But Mona didn’t reply again and she was looking at the read mails again and again by clicking the left mouse button very loudly.

Jegan caught her hand and with sorrow looking face, ‘Hey come on yaar’.

Mona feel little comfortable that Jegan come down this far. But she refused him again saying, ‘We have a meeting now. We meet after some time’.

Jegan clearly knows she is lying because of anger.

Mona’s friend who listening to this conversation said, ‘Hey Mona we don’t have any meeting. Moreover it’s Friday’.

Mona looked at her in anger. Jegan, ‘Thanks mam. But neenga innum pogama ellam ketukittu thaan irukingala’.

She replied, ‘ha ha. But I helped u na’. Jegan, ‘Athu seri’.

Jegan looked Mona and his eyes expressed, ‘Shall we go’.

Mona nodded her head and both started leaving.

Both went to a near by restaurant where only few people are there and Jegan ordered few items for both. They sat opposite to each other.

Jegan take a sip of water and started, ‘Hey I love you. You look beautiful today. But u didn’t put any make up na’.

Mona thought he would say something but he started it as if nothing happened. Her anger level increased and looked at him with even more anger. It is sharp as a diamond; she can cut any with her looks right now. But deep inside her heart she thinks these things makes Jegan a special and different from others.

Jegan takes time and continued, ‘I know I am idiot. Even I didn’t like the start of this. Let me come straight to why are we here. First of all I am very very sorry, I lost my cool on that day and hurt u so much and hurting myself too. I am unable to concentrate anything and I was thinking abt u and our future only.’

Mona listening to him and thinking herself, ‘then why the hell you didn’t attend the calls’.

Jegan, ‘I didn’t pick up ur calls. I was in some kind of mood. Once u didn’t reply to my question na. I feel like I come to the end of the world. I went totally mad. But later only I thought from ur side and felt how badly I hurt u. please forgive me. I need u and you are more than oxygen for me in my life’.

Mona loved him so much and she was very much happy that the way Jegan loves her.

Mona said, ‘First I am sorry for my father comments. But why u left me on that day and avoided me these many days. Now my fathers don’t like me and don’t accept me as his daughter. You are the only one I Had and why did u show your back to me. You felt like u come to end of the world but I felt like the world ended’.

Mona tried hard to avoid the tears but she failed by few drops.

Jegan caught hold her hand tightly. That time a guy came and served soups for them. So they went silent for those seconds. During those seconds, Jegan mind knows he has no answer to Mona’s questions.

Once tat guy left, Mona continued, ‘I am really scared to go to my native and talk to my parents. Even I told my mom yesterday that I love you so much and pleaded her to convince father. But you avoided me. Tell me what shall I do. If U want to marry me now na? Marry me’

Mona gave Jegan some blows in her words.

Jegan stands up and come next to Mona and put his arms around Mona and continued, ‘Hey I m really sorry for all this. I take all the blames. As soon as ur father scolded me I got anger and it entered my head. It just overshadows everything in my mind and that made me to walk away from you. It all happened in seconds. I was little selfish on that day. Now I promise you even an air can’t separate us. Ok’.

Jegan continued, ‘About marriage. Unna ipovey kuttitu poganumnu aasaiya thaan iruku.. But let us wait for certain period of time. I will come with you some day and talk to him and I will ask my parents to talk to him. Hope he will agree for our marriage. Till then lets put a coma for our life. Ok?’

Mona, ‘Ok. But certain period of time means?’.

Mona, ‘If he didn’t agreed before 6 months, on 7^th month u will marry some one ah’.

Jegan, ‘Hey cha cha. Unna vitta ennaku vera yaarum kidaikathu. But everything has a limit na. So I said like tat. Only after ur parents confirmation, I will tie knots ok’.

Mona, ‘Hope my parents agree. But we wait for some more time na’.

Jegan, ‘Ok Madam. Vitta contracts ethavathu ketpa pola’.

Mona pleased and was happy. She asked, ‘U told Oxygen and Air in between. Wat s tat?’.

Jegan, ‘Apdilam sonnena. May be this is called Chemistry I guess.. ;) ‘

Mona, ‘Ooohhh’.

This time, server comes with the main course but Mona and Jegan not even finished the soups itself. Their stomach may be empty but their heart is full of love.

Chennai Egmore – Journey 18

A BIG SORRY. I hope at least few might remember the story. It’s been a months that the last journey came, a big sorry to all. And now, I am back. I am wishing you all a happy new year along with Jegan, Mona, Ganesh, and Aruna ;)

Hurray, Its Green signal from Jegan’s family. Mona and Jegan enjoying the happiest day in their lives, both didn’t sleep in the train. They were making sure every minute were counted (Ofcourse, they will). Jegan told Mona, ‘I cant wait for the day to marry u’. Mona replied, ‘Yea me too. But we ve to’. Both started to dream about their future.

It was a drowsy morning in Chennai, train slowly entering the Egmore station. Except Jegan all woke up. Aruna asked Mona to wake him up. Mona woke up Jegan. On seeing fresh Mona, his first sight on the first morning of his happiest day, he said, ‘Do my eyes deceive me?’ . Hearing this Aruna said herself ‘Oh godddd’ and asked Jegan, ‘Enough guys, plz stop this. We are seeing this from yesterday. If I continue to hear like this I better jump off the train.’ with morning smile.

Jegan, ‘ha ha.. Its love damn it.’

Train reached the station, Jegan told his friends, ‘I love this train, and it brings lot to me’. Mona too shook her as an acknowledgement. All decided to sign off from that place. Jegan took Mona with him and dropped her in hostel and went to his room.

This day Jegan was flourishing with joy and he is totally gone mad. Mona too feels the same but she knows the ball is on her court now. She put herself on some pressure but decided to enjoy the day momentarily.

Couple of days went like this, both loving each other as it were no tomorrow. Whenever Jegan mother called him she asked about Mona.

Its all went beautifully until one day when Mona’s father called her and told her the shocking news. He told, ‘My friend son is coming from US next week. He is going to stay here at least for a month. So once he arrived we will discuss about the marriage. If everything goes fine, we can fix the marriage next month’.

Mona was heartbroken and didn’t say anything to her father and hang up the phone. Immediately Mona called Jegan and told him.

Jegan said, ‘Hmmm. Great. lets meet in evening after office hours and discuss. Ok. Relax till then’.

Mona, Jegan, Ganesh and Aruna met in cafeteria. Mona was very upset and tensed. Aruna asked, ‘What happened? why she is so dull ? why u called us Jegan?’.

Jegan, ‘Jus want to show how beautiful Mona will be when she is crying and upset’.

Mona angrily looked at him and scolded, ‘Are u mad? U don’t take anything serious. And u r making fun of me. Blah blah… ‘.

Ganesh in confusion stopped Mona, ‘Hey hey Mona stop stop. What happened?. What did he do?’.

Mona told about his father call. Aruna asked, ‘Dai enna da ithu?’.

Jegan smiled and said, ‘Enna na? She is getting married in one month’.

Ganesh, ‘Hey are u kidding?. How u take this lightly.’

Jegan, ‘Hey guys cool. Mona this is simple. Now u need to call ur father and tell proudly I love Jegan and I want to marry him’.

Everyone was lip locked.

Jegan, ‘Ok. This is the time na. Any how some day they are going to know about this. Let it to be today. That’s one way or I have to ask my parents to go her home and ask for Mona. Now Am I serious?’

Jegan continued, ‘Mona u have to be very confident this time. We all behind you and My parents also with you. So don’t get afraid and just tell about us. It will work.’.

Mona asked, ‘What will happen if it didn’t work’.

Jegan, ‘Mam first tell and later part we decide afterwards. Enna mathiri oru alagana paiyana vendamna sollva poranga’.

This time only Jegan can smiles for his jokes.

Mona didn’t have enough courage to make a call. Jegan just picked the mobile from her hand and threatening her, ‘ok. Shall I call him?’

Mona, ‘No, please. I call him later.’

Jegan, ‘Why later? Speak now na. Ithukulama plan pannuva?’

Aruna, ‘Hey give her some time. We cannot speak this matter without any plan. We need to decide what to speak first’.

Jegan, ‘No. We all are here, So I thought she could be more comfortable. Ok. Decide what she has to say?’

Both the girls started discussing with one another. This went for around 30 minutes. Jegan stopped them and told, ‘Guys these things wont work. We need to give spontaneous reactions.’

Ganesh, ‘Ennada avasaram unnaku? Seeing from ur reactions I think u r the one who is nervous and afraid’

Jegan looked at Ganesh and told, ‘May beee’

After few minutes of discussion Mona decided to call his father, Jegan almost lost all nails in his hand. It is already late in the evening, so not many in cafeteria. They went to corner area where no one can hear it.

Jegan came and sat close to Mona and told her, ‘Excuse me madam, Correct ah pesituvela.. This is our best chance. Mind it. Don’t worry about the outcome. Objective is to convey the message to them only. Ok’.

Its just like a climax of an thriller movie, still silent among them, no one moved and all are in the edge of the seats.

Mona with shivering hand called his father, her heart beat can be heard miles away. As few seconds of tension, her father picked up the call and asked, ‘Mona, Ennama you called early today’.

Mona with trembling voice, ‘Ya dad. Chumma called. Want to discuss something’.

Mona father, ‘Yea tell me. Enna marriage pathiya’.

Mona, ‘Yes dad’.

Mona father was excited but he didn’t know what is in the store, ‘Oh surprise. Tell me. Are you happy to marry that guy? Shall I talk to his father now?’

Mona was afraid to tell the truth, Jegan waving his hand and signaling this is the right time. Mona continued, ‘No pa.’.

Mona father, ‘What? Why no? You don’t want the marriage now?’.

Mona, ‘No. I don’t want to marry him’.

Mona father, ‘Athaan why? He is educated, earning well, settled in US, his parents were kind enough. You will be happy if u marry him’

Mona, ‘No. Actually. I am in love pa’. Each word in the sentence had long pause. Jegan took a deep breath and waited for the reply.

Mona father with anger, ‘What? Enna solraa ?’. Mona’s mother waiting for her turn to talk to her daughter had sensed something wrong and went close to her husband.

Mona, ‘Yes pa. I love one here’.

Mona, ‘What? Who is that?’.

Mona looked at Jegan and Jegan sighed at her to tell his name.

Mona, ‘J… E… G… A… N’.

Mona father anger increased at a high speed, ‘Avanaaaaaa. Athaan naanga vantha pothu apdi pannana.. He is a cheat. How.. How come you fall into his? Are you mad? ‘.

Mona, ‘No pa. He is really a good guy. He will take care of me well and I love him very much’.

Mona father, ‘Cha I can’t believe this guy. Nallavan mathiriye nadichu epdi pannitan. Fraud. Mona listen to your father. The guy I looked for you is earning more than him, educated more than him. He will surely take care of you. More importantly I know the family for long time. They are decent family, they are also Christians’.

Jegan on hearing Cheat, Fraud and about his family comments moved away from Mona with some anger.

Mona was looking at Jegan, Aruna now sat near to her and asked her to continue and Ganesh went to cool Jegan.

Mona, ‘No dad. He is not like that. You speak to him again and his family also is very good and I know them’.

Mona father, ‘What? you know their family too?’.

Mona, ‘Yes dad. They know our love too. They agreed’.

Mona father, ‘hmmm.. So you urself decided and you don’t need ur parents ah?’.

Mona now started crying, ‘No its not like that. you will understand me more than any one. Please pa. agree’.

Meantime Ganesh was talking to Jegan and he trying to calm him.

Mona father, ‘No’ and went away dropping the phone on the table. Mona Mother immediately take the phone, ‘Ennadi achu unnaku. Yean di epdi panra.. un mela un appa evalvu nambikai vachi iruntharu theriyuma’

Mona, ‘Illama.. Neeyavathu purinchuko ma’.

Both Mona and her mother were now talking, both were crying a lot. Mona’s mother asked her to come home and both hung up the call…

Mona parents were hugely disappointed and worried and whereas Mona was crying and don’t know what to do. Aruna consoled her and stopped her crying then she called Jegan.

Jegan was coming in anger and asked Aruna, ‘What did he say?’

Aruna just shook her hand in disappointment.

Jegan’s anger increased and Mona, ‘Mona even if ur father won’t agree. Will you come with me?’

Mona looked at him and didn’t open her mouth.

Jegan looked at her ,’Monaaa’. Then in anger he kicked the place and left in anger.

On seeing this Mona started to cry again.

Both Aruna and Ganesh were calling Jegan. But he didn’t turn back on his way and went.

Chennai Egmore – Journey 17

Few of them asked where is Ganesh and Aruna, What happened to them. Here they are, they are back and back to help the love journey.

Jegan, Mona, Ganesh and Aruna all gathered at railway station, all together after a long time. So their fun trip starts even before the train started.They had all the fun in train.

Aruna asked Jegan, 'Hey, tell me the truth. Since u want to take Mona to your home, u r asking us to join. Am i rite? Only then ur parents wont mistake rite?'

Jegan, 'Yea pakka Aruna.. U r brilliant'.

Aruna raised her eyebrow and looked at Ganesh, 'See I told u rite. He is selfish'.

Jegan, 'hey Cha cha seriously not like tat. Even I planned this way back, to take u guys to my home.' with his usual smile.

Jegan continues, 'Also I m going to take my love to next step, I am gonna tell my parents. I need u guys to back me', saying this he put his arms around Mona shoulder and pull her close. Mona was happy and leaned on Jegan's shoulder.

Ganesh, 'Oooh hoo.. So this is what we are going for?. hmmm.. Gr8'.

They all had dinner and talked for many hours and finally one by one went to sleep.

Its morning, just minutes before the train stops. Jegan, 'Guys next stop is my home. Its not like Chennai, Just keep that in mind. Ganesh and Aruna its for u guys only I am telling'.

Aruna, 'Enna builduplam athigama iruku'.

Jegan, 'No I am just telling'.

Train stopped and as it s a festival some rush in railway station otherwise it will be quiet. They took an auto-rickshaw and started to Jegan's home. On the way, Jegan told Mona, 'Mona jus remember to put right leg first when entering the home ;-)'. Mona shook her head.

On seeing this Aruna, 'Aiyo thangala'.

Auto stops in front of Jegan home. Jegan's mother was already waiting in the doorsteps to welcome his son. She greeted them with big smile. All entered home and found Jegan's father waiting inside.

As Jegan told, Mona entered the home by putting her right leg first when entering the home.

Jegan started to maintain some gap between him and Mona. Jegan started introducing one by one.

Jegan, 'Amma this is Ganesh and Aruna, My team mates and friends. I told lot about them to u, remember'.

Ganesh, 'How are you ma (amma)'. Aruna joined Ganesh, 'Jegan told lot about u ma'.

Jegan now introduced Mona, 'Amma She is Mona. She is my best friend. She is the one who wants to meet you and gave me this idea'.

Aruna and Ganesh both laughing at Jegan.

Jegan's Mother, 'Ooh really. Good'.

Mona, 'Hi Aunty. How r u?'.

Aruna to Ganesh, 'Smart girl. We called Amma, she called Aunty'. Jegan raised his collar when Ganesh and Aruna looking at him, 'Epudi'.

They chatted for about 10 minutes and Jegan father asked them to take rest in upstairs.

Jegan, 'Hmmm.. My girl in my home and in my room. Amazing. Its like a dream'.

Mona, 'Wish the dream becomes a reality'

Jegan, 'It will happen don’t worry'.

Aruna and Ganesh also there in the room. Aruna, 'Sssh romance ah. hey Jegan and Ganesh, can u both get off the room. Its for ladies.'

Both went out. Jegan on leaving he said, 'After breakfast we all go outside and meet my bloody friends here. Mona get ready and may be you can help my mom in preparing the breakfast'.

Mona,'hhmmm sure'.

Ganesh, 'Seri vada polam'.

Jegan and Ganesh after taking small sleep. They are getting ready for breakfast and going out. Jegan and Ganesh come downstairs to their surprise they found Mona and Aruna already there and helping.

Jegan’s father to Ganesh, 'Enna pa. Nalla rest eduthingala. go and eat well'.

Jegan’s Mother, 'See they are girls; both got up quickly and came to help me. Neengalum irukingale'.

Ganesh, 'Illa Amma, sapadu na rendu perum udaney vanthurvanga.. ha ha'.

Aruna, 'Ganessshh.. Will u....'.

Ganesh, 'Ok got it'.

Jegan’s Mother to Jegan, 'Jegan your friends are nice. Both helping a lot. I like both of them'.

Ganesh,'Not me??'. Jegan Mother, 'Of course I do. I like all my son likes'.

All had stomach full of breakfast and Jegan told his father that he will take them to temple, meet his friends and come. Jegan father told, 'Ask your friends to come here to meet them. Girls lam irukanga'. Jegan,'That Too good idea'.

They were walking slowly to the temple. In the street everyone s looking at Jegan, few asked how is Jegan ? who r they?. Jegan answered them one by one. Mona, 'Hmmm Areala romba famous pola'. Jegan, 'Yea.. Naanlam periya VIP'.

Aruna, 'Mona, Nee epdi keta Moka thaan poduvan.. Engala mathiri pesama vaa'.

Mona, 'Mokka thaan ennaku pidichathey'.

Aruna,'Ssssh Mudiyala'.

They came across a Mandapam, Jegan showed Mona and told, 'Hey our marriage may happen here'. Mona, 'Hmmm lets pray for that'.

They entered temple,Mona hesitated little for a second but she entered temple. They chatted for some time. Jegan told Mona, 'I m going to tell about our love to my parents tomorrow after the festival over. Lets pray everything will go fine.'

Ganesh to Aruna, 'See how tactical he is. Telling this in temple and expecting god to help them'.

Jegan called his friends and asked them to come to his home so they can get introduced.

They also back from temple and Jegan's friends also joined them. Jegan take all of them to upstairs. Even before he introducing, One of Jegan friend bited Jegan's ears, 'Yaaruda Machan.. Unnoda aalu'.

Jegan, 'Dei anga irukirathey rendu peru. Athulla oru ponnu thaan azaga iruku.. antha ponnu thaan Mona', he pointed out to Mona.

Aruna, 'Dei.. Enna nakkala. Wait I am going to tell your mother now. '

Jegan, 'aruna aruna.. I am jus kidding'

All introduced to one another. All of Jegan's friend agreed to help for Jegan's Love. One of the guy said he will do what ever for Jegan and even ready to sing 'Sambo siva sambo song' (Nadodigal song).

They all laughed at this. Talks continued for 2 days. Mona tried her best to show her as the best of the best girls. Jegan also told lot of things about Mona to his parents. Its festival time, So Jegan's parents and Jegan happened to meet many relatives and all were asking about Jegan's marriage.

Jegan don’t know how to tell about his love to parents. He don’t know how to start and how to proceed. Even Mona asked this to Jegan, he didn’t answer. The festival got over. They were eating dinner just hours before starting to chennai.

Ganesh and Aruna talking, 'Enna Ivan.. Love pathi solra mathirye theriyale. I think he is struggling for the start. Ok, Ganesh u start'.

Ganesh was busy eating the food he stopped and looked at Aruna, 'Yaaru Naana. Why its me all time?'.

Aruna, 'Pinna Naana. Sollu'.

Ganesh break the silence and asked Jegan's father, 'Apram Appa Eppo Jeganku Marriage'. Jegan feels its high time to say.

Jegan Father, 'This year, if he is ok'.

Jegan Mother, 'If Jegan said ok, we will start looking for a girl'.

Aruna, 'Ohh. What kind of girl u will look for him ma?'.

Jegan Mother, 'Nalla ponnu ah irukanum. Ungala mathiri nalla ponna irukanum. Mainly Its Jegan's Choice. He only has to tell. '.

Aruna and Ganesh signaled Jegan to tell now.

Aruna and Ganesh were caught by Jegan's father. He understands they want to tell something. Jegan father asked them, 'Wats going on here. U guys want to say something'.

Jegan's mother stopped serving sensing something gonna happen.

Jegan slowly opened his mouth and told them in low voice, 'Actually ma. I have made my choice already'.

Jegan Father, 'Wat? What is going on here? So this is why u guys r here. haan ?'.

All were silenced and Jegan's father continued, 'Come on guys open ur mouth and tell something'.

Ganesh took all his courage and said, 'No pa. We are not here to cheat you. We came here, to let u know what Jegan wants and what he likes. Yes pa he is in love. Hope u understand his feeling.'.

Jegan Mother to Jegan, 'Jegan enna ithu. R u in love u didn’t say it.'

Jegan father looking at Jegan,. Jegan with head down, 'yes ma. Naan love panren. She is the one. I want her. Plz accept her.

Mona was sweating and holding Aruna's hand tightly and looking down too.

Jegan father, 'Wat. Mona? She is a Christian'.

Ganesh, 'What pa. Innum ithulla lam poi... U told me Jegan always makes correct decision on that day. Now he made a choice. And he is asking your acceptance for this. He didn’t want to do anything silly. He even told us my parents will accept and do for me'.

Jegan, 'Enna ma, that day u also told u like whoever I likes nu. Now u don’t like Mona'.

Jegan father stopped eating and said he need some time to think. Jegan said, 'Plz ma, plz pa. I promised her. Don’t think about any other things. Plz say yes'.

Jegan father and mother went to a room. Jegan looked at Ganesh and thanked him.

After few minutes, Jegan father came out. These guys looking at him, anticipation. Jegan father, 'How long it is happening?'

Jegan now started saying explaining in detail. On hearing him, Both Jegan father and Mother understand how he loves Mona.

Jegan father asked Jegan, 'If u get married, U know what difficulties will come and what others will talk. Hindu marrying a chirstian. U know rite?'.

Jegan replied, 'Yea I know.. but I love her and need her. '.

Jegan father after few minutes of silence he told, 'Ok.. If that is what u want. Go ahead.'

Jegan on hearing was blasted to happiness, he thanked his father and hugged his mother, 'Romba thanks pa.. I knew u will say yes.. thanks'.

Mona literally started crying and fell down on Jegan father and said, 'thanks uncle. Jegan illaina naan sethu irupen'.

Jegan father, 'No don’t worry now. So u r my daughter-in-law ah... good. '

Jegan father asked Jegan, 'What’s her family says?'

Jegan, 'Noo she didn’t talked to her parents. They are same like u pa. So no prob'.

Jegan father, 'Hmm solra'.

Jegan Mother asked Mona to come near her and kissed her in fore head and said, 'We are happy to have u'.

Jegan father looked at Ganesh and Aruna and said, 'Hmmm... Good friends. Ganesh u r a nice guy'.

They talked for few more minutes and they are getting ready to go.

When they leave, Jegan mother, 'Dei Ennoda marumagala nalla parthuko'. Jegan laughed and was very happy. They all said bye and left.

They boarded the train, Jegan hugged Ganesh and thanked Aruna, 'Guys u r amazing. Especially Ganesh thanks a lot... '.

Ganesh, 'Ithellam ennaku satharnam'. Aruna, 'Even I m impressed'.

Ganesh, 'Hey parra'.

Jegan told Mona, ' Its another great day in my life, next to our love propose day'. Mona, 'Yea.. Thanks a lot' and hugged Jegan....
